A woman was nearly hit by a train when she stepped out onto the tracks
at an Auckland station.
The woman looked to her right, but not to her left, before crossing the
tracks at Mt Eden Station on April 7.
The lights were on and bells were sounding at the time.
The train driver slammed on the emergency brakes, seemingly missing the
woman by centimetres.
Auckland Transport rail services manager Craig Inger said it was "really
important" that people checked in both directions before crossing railroad tracks.
